Terms and privacy

Short version: joining the waitlist is free, we keep only your email, and we use it to tell you when Strand launches.

Terms of the waitlist

1. Who we are. Strand is built by [Company name], [country]. You can reach us at [contact email].
2. Joining is free. Adding your email doesn’t create an account, a subscription or any obligation to buy.
3. The waitlist price. People on the waitlist can buy one Strand license for $69 instead of $100. The offer applies to the email address you joined with, during the launch period stated in the launch email.
4. Plans can change. Strand isn’t released yet. Features, pricing, the 14-day trial, update period and device limit described on this site are our current plan. If anything changes before launch, we’ll say so before you pay.
5. Your research stays yours. The app runs on your computer and keeps your boards as files on your disk. If you add your own AI key, what you send to that provider is covered by their terms, not ours.
6. Examples on this site. The boards, notes and names on this page are sample content. The voice memo clips are public domain US government recordings from NASA, the NSA and presidential libraries; the people in them are not connected to Strand and do not endorse it.
7. Changes to these terms. If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Big changes will also go out by email.

Privacy notice

• What we collect. Your email address and the time you joined. Nothing else.
• Why. To send you one email when Strand launches, with the waitlist price. We don’t send newsletters.
• Who sees it. Only us. We don’t sell, rent or share your email.
• Leaving the list. Email [contact email] or reply to the launch email, and we’ll delete your address.
• In your browser. The site doesn’t save anything in your browser: no cookies and no local storage.
• No tracking. This site uses no cookies, analytics or third-party trackers. Fonts, images and audio are served from our own server.
